In the Budafok harbour, on the banks of the Danube, where the door of the Vasmacska Terrace Restaurant stands open, there was already a restaurant in the 1920s.
Our restaurant in the 22nd district welcomes everyone who loves classic Hungarian cuisine in a modern cloak, varied fish dishes, vegetarian dishes, meat specialities, handcrafted desserts and refreshing cocktails.
This is the place where family and friends, and even four-legged pets, feel at home.

We welcome you to the popular Danube-side restaurant of the 22nd district with a menu that changes from season to season. Our summer menu offers specialities such as veal paprikash - which can only be tasted here - or vanilla and butter poppy seed noodles with homemade rosemary barac jam.
We have also thought of our vegetarian guests in the selection of roasted broccoli (followed by jwith oghurt and romaine lettuce many other specialties can be found on our menu.Our fish dishes are still varied, whether it's the classic Danube-party staple of hake, but we also offer specialties such as fish fillet fried in almond bark, the black mussel dish with white wine or the seafood spaghetti. In the summer heat, our handcrafted ice creams and spectacular cocktails will refresh you while relaxing by the Danube.

Award-winning chef at the helm of Budafok's Vasmacska Terrace
Martin Balog, multiple competition winner, an emerging talent in modern Hungarian cuisine. He has repeatedly achieved national fame with his placements in the Food of Hungary competition. The young chef's innovative approach and professional excellence promises to bring a new impetus to the restaurant's cuisine. Guests of Vasmacska Terrace can personally taste Martin Balog's award-winning creations and specialities.
Award-winning dessert: Sofia - only at Vasmacska
Our chef Martin Balog and Márton Pelle's dessert, Sofia, took first place in the 2025 Szamos Plate Dessert Competition. The delicacy was a yoghurt cheesecake filled with caramel condensed milk, topped with an apple panacotta, condensed milk sponge cake, served with citrus gel with "Erős Pista" and apple compote balls with honey apple brandy.
You can taste this special dessert for 1 year only in the Vasmacska Terrace Restaurant, because the recipe is kept as a national treasure (the best Hungarian dessert of the year) in the Hungarian Parliament.
